APC Digest English Core for Class 11

Section A contains 25 unseen passage and ten poetry to test reading comprehension and 25 passage for note making and summarizing. Detailed guideline and useful tips have been given to enable the students to attempt these questions in the examination. Meanings of difficult words have been given after each passage and poem.
Section B contains writing skills and grammar. Writing skills include (i) Short compositions i.e., advertisements, notices and posters, (ii) Business/ official letters, letters articles, speeches, report writing and narratives.
Grammar deals with determiners, tenses, clauses, models and voice. It also contains passages for error corrections, editing and reordering of sentences.
Section C contains lesson wise summary of the lesson in English and in Hindi of the textbook Hornbill and supplementary reader snapshots. The answers have been given to the questions asked in text, beside a large number of additional short answer and long answer questions. Value based questions have also been incorporated. It also contains the complete summary, question with answers and multiple choice question of the two novels The Canterville Ghost and Up From Slavery.
Section D deals with listening and spraying skills based on factual or discursive passages.
