Manoj Freedom Fighters Lala Lajpat Rai (The Lion of Punjab Who Knew No Fear)

Lala Lajpat Rai was one of the foremost leaders who fought against British rule in India. He plunged into Gandhi’s non – cooperation movement, and in Punjab Province, Under Lala Lajpat Rai’s leadership it spread like wildfire. Soon he came to be known as “The Lion of Punjab’ or ‘Punjab Kesri”. His love for people’s service was insatiable. He founded many educational institutions. He befriended the suppressed classes. In the political field, he was indispensable. Lala Lajpat Rai immensely contributed in attaining independence for the nation.
Lala Lajpat Rai’s supreme sacrifice came when he led a procession in Lahore to boycott the Simon Commission. Badly wounded in the Lathi-Charge a few days before his death “The Lion of Punjab” in intense pain said in a public meeting “Every Blow Aimed at me is a nail in the coffin of British Imperialism.
